I'm sure you've heard the new song from Parmalee called 'Carolina.'  You may have even seen the guys last year at the 'Taste of Country Music Festival' as they won over a lot of new Hawk fans at the only 3 day country music festival in the North East.

'Carolina,' a catchy little song but many don't know too much about country music's newest hitmakers.  So I thought I would take a minute to introduce to Parmalee.

Parmalee is made up of brothers Matt Thomas (lead vocals, guitar) and Scott Thomas (drums) along with their cousin Barry Knox (bass) and Josh McSwain (guitar) who is a best friend since childhood.

Here are some other facts about country music's newest groups:

>  Prior to the formation of Parmalee, Matt and Scott performed with their father in a group entitled the Jerry Thomas and the Thomas Brothers Band.

>  In October 2010, the band were the victims of an attempted robbery.  Scott Thomas was shot in the stomach, leg and shoulder.  Scott was in critical condition and was hospitalized in Charlotte, NC for 35 days - 10 of which he spent in a coma.

>  Carolina is the groups biggest hit to date.

Here's a look at their hit song and video:
