I always say it in a joking way, (but part of me isn't kidding) when I tell people under the age of 30 to enjoy every second of their youth. I don't know how it is for most people, but almost immediately after I turned 30, I started to feel old and not as happy as I'd been before.

I guess the feelings weren't just in my head. According to a new study, Americans aged 30 and older aren’t as happy as they used to be.

Researchers have been studying general happiness levels since the early 1970's and found that adults have seen a major drop over the decades, from 38% being happy in the early 1970's to 33% today.

The researchers say they think it's because people are dealing with a lot of indecision, second-guessing, and insecurity. This unhappiness could also be caused by all the information we have at our fingertips every day, which is making us feel overwhelmed. (Amen to that!)

Instead of just trying to keep up with the Joneses, we’re trying to keep up with the world and it’s exhausting, isn't it?
