New York State Police are looking for a man who reportedly forced an employee of the Family Dollar on West Front Street in Hancock back into the store after she had just closed it at around 10 p.m. May 30.

Authorities say the man forced the woman at gunpoint to open the safe and hand over an undisclosed amount of money.

The man then had the employee drive him outside of town and he fled in a small, late model, dark-colored vehicle.

Investigators say the suspect is believed to be Hispanic, standing about 5’10” to 6’, of medium build and who was wearing dark colored clothing and had a bandana over his face.  He had displayed a black handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police at (607) 775-1241.
