It's Good News Monday! My good news this week is that my parents, Carl and Donna Pitcher, are celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary!

They've lived in Warren Center, Pennsylvania for as long as I've been alive. In fact, they still live in the house that I grew up in! They moved there in 1969.

I have them to thank for giving me a solid Christian upbringing. It's one thing to go to church, it's another to have Christ as a part of our family.

They were the Methodist Youth Fellowship leaders for all of us kids growing up. One time, we were asked the question, "How do you know you are loved?". My mom's answer was, "When they call me Masquaw."

I started calling her 'Masquaw' after seeing that name in the comic strip Redeye. Actually, she is still called that today!

Dad was my little league baseball coach and would play catch with me for hours. In the early days of my softball career, he was my catcher. He would keep me in line, you know, as best he could. I call him 'Pops' but I don't have a cool story for that, I just like it.

They have been there through all the seasons of my life. Any of my shortcomings aren't their fault, they gave me what I needed to make the decisions in my life. They love me unconditionally and taught me the importance of having faith.

If you see 'Pops' at the store today, you can buy him a anniversary cup of coffee. I'm sure he would let you buy him one tomorrow too!

You can stop by and wish them both a happy anniversary and 'Masquaw' might even have some cookies for you. You can't miss our house if you're in downtown Warren Center.

Thank you, love you, and Happy Anniversary!

...Do I still have to get you a gift?
