George Clooney Reportedly Engaged to Amal Alamuddin

If one of the women you work with suddenly starts crying into her coffee this morning, you'll know why. If the reports are true, the world’s most eligible bachelor has been taken off the market. People magazine and E Online! Are reporting that George Clooney is engaged.

Mouths have been clamped tight at Clooney’s camp and Clooney and Alamuddin are also staying mum, but sources are telling People and Page Six that the actor has proposed to 36-year-old human right lawyer Amal Alamuddin, his girlfriend of about six months.

The story goes that the couple was having dinner Thursday with Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber, when they were approached by Ed Norton. "We're engaged!" they reportedly gushed.  Alamuddin was apparently wearing a "huge ring."

Clooney was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993, but hasn’t been in a rush to walk down the aisle again.
