The Garth Brooks World Tour is coming to New York City for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood (who is the special guest at all his shows) will perform at Yankee Stadium in New York City on July 9. The show is scheduled for 8:30PM.

The last time Brooks played NYC was the iconic 1997 Central Park concert which drew almost a million people. His upcoming tour stop at Yankee Stadium is also historic: it will be the first country music event held at the current Yankee Stadium.

Tickets for Brooks' NYC show show go on sale May 20 at 10AM CT, with a limit of eight tickets per purchase. Tickets will be available through ticketmaster.com or by phone at 1-866-448-7849 or 1-800-745-3000. Tickets will cost $69.23 plus a $4.50 facility fee and a $6.25 service charge, for a total of $79.98.

The 2016 leg of Brooks' tour kicked off in Florida mid-January. Dates are currently scheduled through July, with more scheduled to be announced. Upcoming stops include Grand Rapids, Mich; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Las Vegas, Nev.

Brooks' most recent studio album is the 2014 Man Against Machine. The singer had plans for a follow-up album in 2015 or 2016, but that project has since been delayed so that he can work on writing what he calls "the most Garth thing I have ever done."
