Garth Brooks might be one of the most successful artists of all time in country music, but he admits even he is a fan sometimes. The singer shared at a press conference last week, before the opening night of his world tour, that he has a lot of respect for one of the current reigning hitmakers.

"Guys like Jason Aldean, who came out with what I call 'muscle country,' (the) poor guy came out and did it, and he was the only guy doing it -- and then everybody jumped on it," Brooks says (quote via CMT). "Everybody tried to do that Jason thing."

As one of the game-changers in country music in the early '90s, the 'Friends in Low Places' singer says he respects how hard Aldean continues to work.

"So he's now in the point of trying to figure out how to reinvent himself," he adds. "I wish him well with that because the kid's a good talent, and I'd like to see him around with some new music."

Looks like Brooks will get his wish. Aldean's latest album, 'Old Boots, New Dirt,' will be released on Oct. 7. Order the album here.

Brooks will continue his world tour with shows in Chicago, followed by stops in Atlanta, Ga., and Jacksonville, Fla., with more shows expected to be announced shortly. See all of his upcoming shows here.
