Growing up in Binghamton, Robinson Museum and Science Center was always a favorite place to visit as a kid.  I was always amazed watching the stars in the planetarium, visiting the Christmas tree forest around the holidays and learning about great art available in the Greater Binghamton area.

It's because of this early exposure to the Robinson Museum, I later took a couple of valuable drawing and painting classes taught by some top local artists and even a pottery class or two.  It was always fun, interesting and valuable learning.

If you're planning to visit the museum on Front Street in Binghamton, this would be a good week to do so:

Roberson is open 12-5 Wednesday but closed to the public on Thursday as the staff prepares for one of their biggest fundraisers, the sold out Wine and Food Fest Thursday evening.

Hours on Friday are 12-9pm.  At 6pm, there's an exciting evening of entertainment as they roll out the red carpet for the V.I.P. Premier of "Tales of Dracula," soon to be released on DVD.  What's really cool about this red carpet Binghamton event is a meet and greet the cast and crew, along with wine and cheese.  Proceeds benefit the Roberson museum V.I.P.Tickets need to be purchased by April 22nd at the museum.

On the creative side, registration is open now for our 2015 summer beginner Pottery Courses.  What's nice about these classes, they are limited to 10 openings so that means there is a lot of attention given to each student. Classes are open to high school seniors- up.

Registration is open for the always popular Robinson Summer Camp programs, for grades 2 through 12.

For additional information on current exhibits, the planetarium or museum hours, reach out to Robinson.org or call (607) 772-0660.
