I've always said that if I worked at a pet shelter I would probably adopt more furry friends to my family.  But how rewarding would it be to say you work with animals, especially if you love animals like I do and want to make a difference.

That's the idea behind the Front Street Dog Shelter opening it's doors Saturday (June 4) between 10am and 2pm at the shelter located just South of (behind) SUNY Broome in the Town of Dickinson, off Front Street and Lt. VanWinkle Drive.

Come out and see the good work the shelter does every day of the year, see if volunteering is something that interests you and meet the pooches looking for a second chance as there are always precious dogs that need "forever" homes.

The Front Street Dog Shelter is always looking for supplies that really help the program continue.  The shelter is seeking leashes, toys, blankets, towels, dog beds, and soaps such as laundry detergent and Dawn-brand dish soap.
