Free ‘Walk With a Doc’ for Better Health
If you have a better relationship with Dr. Suess then your personal doctor then Lourdes Hospital has an event that you won't want to miss. If you missed it in October or you just want to do it again then here's your second chance on Saturday.
Lourdes Ascension Medical Group and the Vestal Coal House want you to take a step forward for better health with "Walk with a Doc." It's a health program that brings doctors and patients together to walk and chat.
It's begins at the Vestal Coal House, 204 Stage Road this Saturday, November 10th at 9:30 a.m. Pre-registration is not required for this free event and is open to all ages and abilities. It's a rejuvenating walk with Dr. Eldad Einay and other healthcare professionals. They'll answer questions during the walk.
Walk with a Doc is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages and improve the health and well-being for everyone.
The American Heart Association says that walking for only 30 minutes a day can help in so many ways including:
• Improve blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
• Help maintain a healthy body weight and lower the risk of obesity.
• Enhance mental well-being.
• Reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
