We do it everyday, download the free version of an app because,  why pay? Well the ads are costing you more in the long run than just spending the 99 cents. Check this out.

University of Southern California did a study you should pay attention to. They found that free versions of apps use 79% more network data than the paid versions because of all the ads they stream.

That costs you close to 2 cents every time you open the app, based on the average price of data plans.

So, if you use a free app 60 times, you've now spent over a dollar.  If you use the free app every day for a year, it'll cost you  close to $6.50. Which is most likely more than you would have paid if you just bought it to begin with.

And there's more.  Free apps use 16% more energy, which costs you almost an hour of precious battery life, and they can slow down your phone. Why? They use 22% more memory!
