Today is going to be quite a day for Fred Funk. It'll start with a Christian Fellowship Breakfast this morning and then he'll get a key to the Village of Endicott this afternoon.

Let's start with the Christian Fellowship Breakfast this morning. It's at the Kalurah Building at 625 Dickson Street in Endicott. It begins at 7:30. It's hosted by Fred.

Besides Fred, the  panel will consist of defending Dick's Sporting Goods Open Champion, Bart Bryant; 1987 Masters Champion, Larry Mize; 1987 U.S. Open Champion, Scott Simpson and 2009 Allianz Championship Champion, Mike Goodes.

Besides a great breakfast, they will tell the role their faith has played in their daily lives, as well as their golf game. Tickets available at the door. It  includes admission to the Thursday Pro-Am at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Open.  A complementary shuttle will be provided.

Anytime that you can talk golf AND have breakfast, that's a good way to start your day. To find out more about all the Dick's Sporting Goods Open activities, go here.

Then this afternoon, Fred will receive the key to the Village of Endicott from Deputy Mayor Dave Baker. Funk is the first and only player to hit 1 million dollars in career earnings at En-Joie Golf Course.

He'll make his 19th start on Friday. He won the 1996 B.C. Open and joined the Champions Tour in 2006. The key presentation will be held before this afternoon's pro-am wave on the first tee at around 1:15.

He's a fan favorite and one of my favorites as well. Congratulations Fred and good luck this weekend.
