Frankie Ballard's gonna be here July 10th at NYSEG Stadium for the Toyota Country Lights Festival.

He's recording a new album and he was able to play a hero's guitar. I've heard of guitar hero but this is better. He played one of Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitars.

He was recording at the Sonic Ranch outside of El Paso, Texas. The owner had one of Vaughn's guitars in his collection and offered to let Frankie play it.

It was a '64 (Fender) Esquire. It was one of two guitars to make it out of his estate. He couldn't believe that he had one of his hero's guitars in his hands while he was recording.

He's idolized Stevie Ray since he first saw him play guitar on a PBS special when he was a kid.

When Frankie isn't touring, he's recording his sophomore album. I can't wait to hear some of his music on July 10th.

I was fortunate enough to see Stevie Ray Vaughn twice. He opened up for 38 Special in Allentown and for Robert Plant in Albany. I enjoyed his show better both times. I actually cried when he died in the plane crash.

The clock is ticking but it's still not too late to get tickets for the Toyota Country Lights Festival. Get them below and we'll see you at the show.
