Former Binghamton Senator Key to Tampa Bay Success

Goaltender Ben Bishop has helped key the Tampa Bay Lightning's success in their bid to win the Stanley Cup Championship.  Bishop won 40 games this regular season and is 10-6-0 with a save percentage of .925 in the post-season.  His Lightning team currently leads the New York Rangers 2-1 in the Eastern Conference finals.

Bishop was a third-round draft pick of the St. Louis Blues in 2005 out of the University of Maine.  In February, 2012 he was traded from St. Louis to Ottawa for a second-round draft pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.  Late in the 2012-13 season he was dealt to Tampa Bay in a deal thast brought Cory Conacher to Ottawa.

During Bishop's time in Ottawa he played in 16 games with the Binghamton Senators.  In the 2011-12 season he compiled a record of 2-1-0 and then in the 2012-13 campaign he went 8-3-0 with a 2.59 goals against mark.

Bishop took over the bulk of the goaltending duties in Tampa Bay last season when he played in 63 games and then saw action in 62 this regular season.  Over the past two campaigns he won 77 regular season games for the Lightning.
