Chicken does not cause cancer but fried chicken may.

Men's Health reports that a new study from the respected Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle says that deep fried fried foods (french fries, fried chicken, donuts, fried fish) boosts your risk of prostate cancer considerably.

The study of more than 3,000 men ages 35 to 74, discovered that guys who ate the classic American diet once or more a week "had a 30- to 37-percent higher risk of prostate cancer."

Surprisingly, "the risk remained the same even after the researchers considered factors like age, race, family history, body-mass index, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels."

By comparison, "men who had the lowest prostate cancer risk only ate fried foods less than once a month, while men with a more moderate risk ate fried foods one to three times a month."

And guys you may want to switch from coffee to tea.  The same study shows that guys that opted for at least one cup of black tea every day, reduced their risk of prostate cancer by 37 percent.  You can thank the natural polyphenols found in black and green teas that have amazing cancer-fighting antioxidants.

I guess Mom was right, you are what you eat.
