I'll never forget the day my aunt needed CPR and nobody was trained to administer CPR that may have saved her life.  That's what prompted me to get my CPR certification.  I have tremendous respect for those who take CPR classes and those who teach first aid, CPR and AED.  If you've considered taking an instructor training class, you're in luck.

The American Red Cross of the Southern Tier will host a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Training class on Saturday, April 18th from 9am-Noon, and Sunday, April 19th from 11am-6pm at the Red Cross office at 620 E. Main Street, Endicott.  Here you will learn basic level First Aid, CPR and AED courses.

Candidates must be at least 16 years of age, possess current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and/or AED certification(s) or equivalent.  The cost of the class is $250, which includes a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor kit and DVD.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer instructor, you may be eligible to receive the training class for free if certain criteria is met.

Space is limited and advanced registration is required.  To register, call 1-800-733-2767, or visit the American Red Cross web site.
