Today is the final day for Binghamton Restaurant Week. Don't miss out on this opportunity to help out local restaurants for a good cause.

Earlier this week, I went to South Side Yanni's.

As I've mentioned before, there are many great things about BRW. One of them is going to a restaurant that I've been too before but trying something different. That's what I did when I went to Yanni's.

I find it helpful to take someone with you when I go.

  1. People look at me funny if I'm talking and no one is sitting with me.
  2. There's a good chance that my companion will get something different than me. That way I can try their food in the name of Binghamton Restaurant Week. After all, if I'm gonna talk about it, I have to try it.

Tara went with me to Binghamton Hots. Dawn went with me to Southside Yanni's. Happy to report that they were both more than happy to share their food with me. At least after a little pleading and puppy faces.

For the second straight time, Ashley had the pleasure (or is it pain) of being my waitress for BRW. She suggested the chop-chop salad with grilled chicken. I had my heart set on the crispy shrimp po' boy. I compromised and let Dawn have the chop-chop salad.

Once again, my master plan is working. Okay it very rarely works but it did this time. I asked Ashley how BRW was going for them. She said what many of the restaurants tell us. They see a lot of new faces and many familiar faces trying new things. I love hearing that.

Thank you Ashley and all at Yanni's, excellent as always.

You haven't missed out on BRW but today is it. Proceeds support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Binghamton and Broome County Habitat for Humanity.
