Elliott Root is a 7 year boy. He was born with hypoplastic right heart syndrome. The right side of his heart was underdeveloped. He's had countless surgeries through the years including 3 since June. On Saturday, Elliott will get help from the community with a “Fight with Heart Wing Day” fundraiser.

A recent surgery didn’t go as planned. So that meant his parent's Jim and Amy spent most of the summer in and out of hospitals away from home.

The Kattelville Athletic Association (Kaa) is having the fundraiser for the Roots. It will be from 2-10 on Saturday at 2450 Route 12 in Chenango Forks. Fight with Heart Wing Day means you can enjoy KAA's chicken wings.

There will be raffles as well including tickets to Syracuse/Louisville game on Fri. Hawktober 3rd and tickets to the NY/Washington game on December 14th.

Amy has become a part of the Mended Little Hearts. The mission of Mended Little Hearts is to increase awareness about childhood heart conditions, raise money for research and to connect families who have children with heart conditions with other families to offer support and a sense of hope for the future.

She started the Binghamton branch so that people could come together with help and hope for each other and even a shoulder to cry on. To find out more about Mended Little Hearts go thier facebook page here or check out the website here.

If you can't make it Saturday and want to help. A bank account in Elliott’s name has been set up through M&T Bank. To make a donation, checks can be sent to:
