Fight Garlic Breath With An Apple
If you have garlic breath, eat an apple- simple as that!If you’re like me and try to add garlic to every dish you make not only because it’s delicious but because it’s got cancer fighting properties, this might interest you. There’s a study that was published in the Journal of Food Science which listed the foods that are best at fighting that garlic breath smell most people detest and apparently apples work the best. Who knew? If you don’t like or have apples nearby, lemon juice and mint are also effective. Don’t have any of those? Green tea, parsley and spinach might also help, but not as well as apples.
The smell of garlic breath doesn’t really bother me, but here’s a fun “did you know” for you: the reason we get garlic breath is because garlic contains the compound allyl methyl sulphide (aka AMS) and it can’t be broken down during digestion. That means it has to be released from the body in your breath and sweat.
And now you know!
