It was a sad day yesterday when the sport world lost Pat Summitt passed away at the age of 64 with Alzheimer's. It happened fast. She started to suffer from it in 2011. By April of 2012, she got out of coaching.

It's amazing to me, what she did next. She and her son Tyler got baptized on May 5th, 2012 together and declared their faith together. How powerful that must have been for them during that time. A bonding moment that he will never forget.

It also had to be a time that had much fear with it. In fact, many of us are afraid.

Whether it's the economy and the loss of a job or terrorist attacks like the airport suicide bombing in Turkey. Many of these things are beyond our control.

I have more fear for my children then for me but it is a fear none the less. So how do you get past it? How do you keep going on without the fear and the anxiety that it brings with it.

I imagine this is something that the Summitt family faced as well. I have a feeling what they did, is something that we all could try. Did you know the opposite of fear isn't courage? It's faith.

The question for some is: Faith in what. Faith in the world will give you anxiety and restless nights. I know because I've tried it that way.

The Summitt's and my family know what our answer is. I'll let you decide what faith works best for you.  As the Summitt family might tell you, their faith takes the fear out of life....and death.
