5 Mile Point Speedway owner Andrew Harpell commented on Fan Appreciation Night, “We wanted to thank our longtime area fans for their support over the years with this Fan Appreciation night.”

He added, “We know the local economy is really struggling and this may be the only opportunity some will have this year to attend a race. We want to just say thanks to them and give a fun night out of racing.”

Practice will begin at 5:15 p.m with racing set for 6:00. No coolers (food or beverages) will be permitted in to the grandstand area this Saturday. Tailgating is permitted so arrive early as several race cars will be on display.

There have been many improvements made over the years. The stadium lightning makes the viewing of the action awesome for the fans. All new safety fencing, along with a revamping of the speedway layout and backstretch pit area are just some of the improvements that have been made.

Pit gates will open at 3.  Kids 12 and younger will be admitted free of charge in to the grandstand area. 5 Mile Point will be silent on Saturday the 9th for the Race of Champions event at the Chemung Speedrome in Chemung.  To check out all the fun, go here.
