Have you ever seen your Facebook news feed blow up when an AMBER Alert has been issued and wondered if it was legit because you didn't receive a notification yourself? All of that has changed.

Effective immediately, we'll now all receive information about a missing child right our  fingertips. Facebook has officially partnered with The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which will create AMBER Alert posts right in your Facebook newsfeed!

Emily Vachar, trust and safety manager of Facebook told the Huffington Post, “We've been inspired by people who already use Facebook on their own for this purpose. What we did was really just amplify what was already happening."

The posts will appear by location, so if it’s coming up on your newsfeed, there's an incident nearby and you’re being encouraged to spread the word. Emily Vachar also added, "If you see one of these alerts from Facebook, you're in the position to bring a child home safely.”

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children officially began posting as of this past Tuesday, January 13th and encourages you to call 911 if you see or hear anything that could help find a missing child.
