It’s too funny that this news just came out about Facebook because I was just talking to a friend and telling her that I didn’t know how Facebook determined what friends to feature in the “Friends” section of a person’s profile page. Now I do.

You’ve probably noticed that the same friends pop up almost all the time on your Facebook profile under the “Friends” section and you might have also noticed that these friends are ones you interact with or “know” the most.

This is no accident.

Facebook actually “ranks” your friends based on how much you interact with them, and how many connections you have with them, such as mutual friends, relationship status, messages sent, and profile visits.

So if you’ve noticed that you don’t interact with a lot of the people you used to interact with, you can blame Facebook because they’ve basically pushed those friends to the back.  Thanks guys.
