Like so many, I am so excited to see LeAnn Rimes in concert Saturday.  As you know, LeAnn Rimes is a big big name in the world of music and entertainment.  37 million albums, including many multi-platinum, has won just about every music award, starred in movies, on TV, a successful author, and someone who gives a lot back to charity.  LeAnn Rimes may just be the biggest music star to appear at Binghamton's Spiediefest & Balloon Rally.

LeAnn's just-released album 'Spitfire,' has been called "her best yet" by critics.  According to LeAnn, she's not perfect and this album reflects "letting herself go."  LeAnn adds that it was the most amazing experience putting this album together and 'Spitfire' is something she is most proud of because it tells her story unlike anything else she has ever recorded.

Here are a few more things you may not know about this country superstar, according to About.com:

Full name: Margaret LeAnn Rimes
Birthday: Aug. 28, 1982
Birthplace: Jackson, Miss.
Raised: Garland, Texas
Hair: blonde
Eyes: blue
Parents: father Wilbur and mother Belinda (divorced in 1997)

Her big break came after singing the national anthem at a Dallas Cowboys football game.  It was then, a local DJ/ record promoter asked her to record 'Blue,' a song he wrote 40 years earlier for Patsy Cline, but because of her untimely death, she never got the chance to record the song.  Her early recordings at 13 were compared to Patsy.  The album 'Blue,' went on to sell over 6 million copies world-wide.

Her musical influences include:  Reba, Wynonna, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler.

LeAnn has appeared in 6 movies:  Holiday In Your Heart (1997 TV movie), Dill Scallion (1999 indie film), Coyote Ugly (2000), Good Intentions (2008 TV movie), Northern Lights (2008 TV movie), Reel Love (2011 TV movie).

TV credits:  Days of Our Lives, American Dreams, Drop Dead Diva, Anger Management, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, and hosted a season of the talent show, Nashville Star.

Charity:  LeAnn gives back to her favorite charities, including:  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, T.J. Martell Foundation, Operation Smile, D.A.R.E., and many others.  In fact, LeAnn continues to give back to charity as this weekend's Spidiefest & Balloon Rally helps local agencies here in the Greater Binghamton area.
