Eternal Love: Husband Sends Wife Valentine Flowers from Beyond the Grave
This is one of those stories you’d expect to read in a Chicken Soup For The Soul Book while clutching a wad of tissues and bawling your eyes out.
I don’t know if this is true or if it’s just a story made up by someone with a very romantic heart, but either way, it’s a tear jerker.
A clip from a magazine has been going around online and it’s a story from a 68-year-old woman in Houston, Texas named Sue Johnston.
Sue was married to her husband John for 46 years, and every Valentine’s Day, he’d send her a bouquet of flowers. After 46 years together, he died. But the next Valentine’s Day, Sue got a bouquet from John. It made her angry and upset, so she called the florist to tell them about the mistake. But they told her, quote, “Before he passed away, your husband prepaid for many years.”
John asked the florist to keep sending her bouquets every Valentine’s Day. And when Sue looked at the card on the flowers, it said, quote, “My love for you is eternal.”
I hope with all of my might that this story is for real. I still believe despite what the world tells us that true, pure love exists and never dies.
