Does it feel like today is a little bit longer? Maybe it's not you, because today is a little longer.

Okay, it probably is you, but today, June 30th, is in fact a second longer. Let's get ready to celebrate "Leap Second."

Granted it is a shorter celebration then leap year but a celebration is a celebration. We've probably celebrated for less.

In order to keep Coordinated Universal Time with the Earth's unpredictable rotation, today there will be 1 extra second added.

The so-called "leap second" will occur tonight after 7:59 and 59 seconds Eastern Time but be ready because it'll be over before you know it. I know guys sometimes get scared when they hear that.

There will be a one-second delay before the clock hits 8:00. This is all because of the rate of Earth’s rotation has slowed an average of 1.5 to 2-milliseconds per day, per century.

So let's get ready to par...nevermind, it's over.
