Police on West Edwards Street in Endicott after shots rang out. [Bob Joseph/WNBF News][/caption]Police swarmed a residential neighborhood in Endicott's Union District following a reported shooting incident.

Village police were called to West Edwards Street at 7:57 a.m. Tuesday after three shots were heard.

Detectives say the incident happened in the area of 307 West Edwards Street.

Officers set up a perimeter around the scene. Endicott police were assisted by New York State Police and Broome County sheriff's deputies. A Spencer Police Department unit which was in the area when the call went out also provided assistance.

Heavily armed police could be heard shouting to someone as they waited outside the house.

Police also were seen searching a wooded area south of the house.

Investigators say there were no reports of injuries. They say detectives were processing the scene and collecting evidence.

A section of West Edwards Street between Lillian Avenue and Davis Avenue was closed for the investigation.
