Elf On The Shelf and The Twelve Days Of Christmas
Well over the weekend, Tara’s Elf on the Shelf (Suzie) appeared in the Christmas tree. That inspired a new not so classic Christmas song.
As you know, on the first Day of Christmas my true love gave to me a partridge in a pear tree. I tried to convince Tara that we should change it to a Suzie in a Christmas tree. She gave me the “your crazy daddy” look. So I had to sing her the song from the beginning. Since she doesn’t really know the whole song (and neither did I), I started with the 5th Day of Christmas.
So here it goes: On the 5th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me 5 Dime On (Diamond) Rings. The wife didn’t think that was too funny. Many years ago I gave her a dime glued on top of a ring (Dime on ring) for Christmas. She thought it was cute until I didn’t give her a real one (diamond). On the 4th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me 4 Tweety Birds. I originally thought girls instead of birds was funnier but I was informed I would be the one to explain it to Tara. Besides Tweety Bird is one of my favorite cartoon characters.
On the 3rd day of Christmas my true love gave to me 3 French Fries. Once again I thought Kisses was better, but Tara’s too young to know about that. Unless I can convince her that it’s like Hersey Kisses. On the 2nd day of Christmas gave to me 2 Turtle necks. Not much to that because I couldn’t make 2 Ninja Mutant Turtles fit in the song.
Finally, on the 1st day of Christmas my true love gave to me a Suzie in a Christmas tree. I’m going to miss Suzie when she leaves. I still have 8 days, I mean Tara still has 8 days til Suzie leaves until next Christmas season. Merry Christmas.
