Downtown Binghamton Building Demolished

There was quite a bit of action in downtown Binghamton today causing some rerouting and slow moving traffic.  Demolition on the historic Ellis Brothers Contemporary Furniture building on Water Street, began this morning after engineers had concerns of structural and safety issues, following an April 30th fire.

Water Street, just north of Court Street was closed today as well as the pizza restaurant next door.  The Ellis Brothers store on Washington Street will remain open for business.
