The Great New York State Fair in Syracuse will be here before you know it. We all like to save money and the Fair is doing their part to help with new discounts to make it even more affordable.

Advance tickets are now on sale but there are many days that feature discount and free tickets for various groups throughout the 13 day fair.

The discount tickets include $1 admission every day for college students with a current college ID.

Here are days for free admission for various groups:

Family Fishing Days on Thursday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 26th: Admission is free for anyone with a valid New York State hunting or fishing license at the gate.

Canadian Friendship Days from August 24th to August 26th: Free admission for any Canadian citizen with legal ID.

Senior Days on Monday, August 27th and Tuesday, August 28th: Admission is free for anyone age 60 or above.
Law Enforcement Day on Monday, August 27th: Admission is free for all New York State police and correction officers with valid ID.
Fire and Rescue Day on Tuesday, August 28th: Admission is free for all New York State fire and emergency services workers with valid ID.
Armed Forces Day on Thursday, August 30th: Admission is free for all current or retired military members with valid ID or DD-214.
Six Nations Day on Friday, August 31st: Admission is free for all members of Iroquois tribes.
SU Football Day on Friday, August 31st: Admission is $1 when wearing Syracuse University apparel, in honor of the opening football game of the season.

The Great New York State Fair runs from August 22nd to September 3rd and their theme this year is "Find Your Great."
