Dierks Bentley just had too much new stuff last week to talk about, so he returns this week to 'Country Countdown USA' Sunday night 7-10pm on 98.1 The Hawk, for even more fun. Dierk's new single debuted this week on the Hawk and is getting some great early response from listeners in the Greater Binghamton area.

"Somewhere On a Beach is a fun song, a slow jam party song, but my memories of the beach are bonfires, all the things you do as a teenager. The beach is mysterious, there's a lot of mystery, so that's the beach I envision. It's not really a daytime thing, it's more of a night time sexy vibe." What's your favorite line in the song? "Probably my favorite line is 'Gettin' sun, gettin' some, and I ain't slept in a week!' It's a party song!"

In conjunction with the new single, Dierks also announced the Somewhere On a Beach Tour, starting in May, featuring Randy Houser and Cam. He told host Lon Helton that it's an entirely new show for 2016: "Our show this year will be a whole new production. Our set is killer. Last year I had a bunch of pyro, which was fun. But because of fire codes, the fans can't be too close to the pyro. I like the fans pressed up against the stage. The physical structure of the stage looks amazing. It's going to be a little louder, a little dirtier, there'll be more amps on stage. Think of an old, worn out leather jacket vibe. A little grittier."

The NHL All Star Game is coming to Nashville next weekend. Dierks is playing a pre-game show, but he told Lon he may make an appearance during the game as well: "I might get a chance to be a celebrity head coach during the game on one of the benches. It'll be fun to be next to the head coach and see what they do. If you watch hockey coaches as compared to football coach, they're in a suit and they don't say a lot. So I'm kind of excited to check it out."

Dierks is preparing to make his debut as co-host of the Academy of Country Music Awards. He's also hosting the ACM Concert For a Cause the night before the show. "I have thought twice about that, like wait a minute, we're playing til midnight, and then I'm gonna host that show the next day? I think by then I'll be back in fighting shape at that point. I've been doing this a long time, so you learn to be smart. We'll have a little 'hair of the dog' the next morning and get the job done." The 51st annual ACM Awards take place Sunday April 3rd.

Dierks also has great stories this week about Randy Houser, Maddie & Tae, Thomas Rhett, Eric Church, Cam, Brothers Osborne, and Florida Georgia Line.

Dierks is back Sunday night 7-10pm to talk about this and more on Country Countdown USA.  Take the Hawk along with the FREE Hawk app Radio Pup.  Download it FREE right HERE to your smart phone or tablet.  Also available in Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
