Well depending on how you look at things, the world didn't come to an end last night. Some ministers were predicting the end of the world when the Supermoon Eclipse/Blood Moon appeared last night.

Well we're still here. Did you see it?

As I understood it, the Supermoon Eclipse was going to appear around 9:07pm with the Blood Moon to completely show itself at 10:12pm. I was getting a little worried if we were going to be able to see it in the Southern Tier.

Around 8:50, there was a lot of cloud cover. The moon would appear then disappear behind the clouds. My daughter, Tara, assured me that we still had plenty of time. She had more faith then I did. She was right.

As the eclipse began, the clouds seemed to go away. I watched it for about 15 minutes. I told my family that if the world didn't come to an end in the next hour and the clouds went away for the Blood Moon, wake me up.

So around 10, Tara pops into my room and said that it was clearing up if I wanted to see it. WOW, did it ever clear up. Tara and I look at the stars all the time. There were so many stars, more then I've ever seen before. What an AWESOME sight.

She wants to be an astronomer when she grows up. She's asked for 2 things for her birthday. One of the presents is a telescope (the other present is skybox tickets to the Binghamton Senators, but that's another story for a different day).

It was awesome watching it with my family. What a cool memory. The next Supermoon Eclipse will be in 2033. Tara will be 29 and by then she'll have a family of her own. I'm so thankful for this memory.

When I see how glorious it all looked, I wonder how you can't believe in a Higher Being. That's also another story for another day.
