Halloween ended only a few days ago. The costumes are away, the candy and decorations are discounted, and we are preparing for the next holiday. WHICH ISN’T CHRISTMAS!

I woke up on Wednesday hoping to jump on Facebook and see how people are excited for the best holiday of the year: Thanksgiving. But, it seems that Christmas fever has already started!

Let me say that I am no Grinch, but Thanksgiving needs the respect it deserves. After all, it is a holiday mostly based around stuffing your mouth with food.

Thanksgiving is a time of gathering with family and awkwardly sharing stories while trying out some red wines you picked up on the way to your aunt’s house for $12. It’s about remembering the loved ones who have passed on and welcoming new family members to the group.

Everyone gathers in the kitchen making small talk and cooking the dinner. I usually fill up on all the appetizers and sides, I find turkey to be overrated. We sit down to watch football after dinner and nap. Thanksgiving has all the things I love in one.

So, over the next few weeks I ask everyone to slow down just a little bit and appreciate the forthcoming holiday of Thanksgiving. Christmas will come, but we must not forget its little brother T. Giving. Food, Football, and Full Bellies! It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
