They say that "good things come to those who wait". Then this year's DSG Open will be great, because it's a little later than normal this year. It's always happened in June, July or mid-August.

This year it arrives on Monday, August 24th and ends on Sunday, August 30th. We have a great field coming to the Southern Tier.

26 of the top 30 money winners on the Champions Tour are coming this year. Defending Champion Bernhard Langer will be back to defend his title. He's looking to be the first to win back to back DSG Open titles.

Personal favorites Kenny Perry, Mark O'Meara, and Fred Funk will also be in attendance. As well as hometown favorite, Joey Sindelar and for the first time, Davis Love III will be here! Now I just need Gary Koch to come back.

There's a lot going on all week besides golf. On Thursday the 27th, it's the Christian Fellowship Breakfast at the Kalurah Building in Endicott.

The Friday night concert with Lady Antebellum and Sam Hunt. The Wendy's Walk for Kids will end with a walk down the 18th on Sunday the 30th.

If I had to choose only one thing to go to, I would pick the Open. I'm glad I don't have too choose though, because there are a lot of great things to do in the Southern Tier (and nearby).

Oh and in case you were wondering, it's the weekend before Labor Day.
