I love Dolly Parton!  It's true.  There's something about her music, her choice in movie roles and how she handles herself that keeps me coming back for more.  TasteofCountry.com and 981TheHawk.com have been teasing our readers about the new movie based on Dolly Parton's life.  And late last week, NBC released more details.

"Coat of Many Colors," named after an early self penned hit of Dolly's will premiere on NBC December 10th and will focus on Dolly circa 1955, living in the Appalachian Mountains with her parents and 11 siblings, Dolly's ambitions to make it big in Nashville and the death of her little brother.

Alyvia Alyn Lind is cast as young Dolly, with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles as Dolly's mother Avie Lee Parton. The rest of the cast looks like this:  Gerald McRaney has also been cast as Grandpa Jake Owens, and Ricky Schroder as Dolly's father, Robert Lee Parton.

A second movie is planned for 2016, tentatively titles "Jolene."

You can catch some of Dolly's hits 10-Midnight with "Retro Country USA" on 98.1 The HAWK or listen live on the FREE Hawk App Radio Pup.  Download it HERE.
