The Weather Channel apparently doesn’t have a sunny view of one Southern Tier county.

The channel is ranking Delaware County the 10th worst place in the U.S. to own a home, based on the risk of natural disaster.

Delaware County has recently been hard hit by flooding and snow and ice storms.

County officials defend their home, citing a number of measures that have been undertaken to prevent future flooding.

The ranking also figured in heating costs and listed Delaware only behind some areas of Alaska for the high cost of heating and cooling a home.
