The NASCAR season gets underway this Sunday with their biggest event, the Daytona 500.  That means its time for another big event in the Southern Tier.

It's the 4th annual Daytona 500 Action & Auction benefit for the Broome County Animal Care Council.  It's happening Sunday at the Elks Lodge, 1309 US Rt 11 in Kirkwood from 11a to 5p. The Broome County Animal Care Council is a registered non-profit organization which receives no government funding and does not euthanize animals for population control.  It's also one of the oldest and most respected animal rescue and adoption organizations in the Southern Tier.

Admission price to the Action & Auction includes a buffet (sausage, meatballs, pizza, salads, desserts, soda and coffee.) Many local celebrity drivers will be on hand. There will also be live & silent auctions, memorabila and raffles.  All to benefit the Animal Care Council.  They're also encouraging you to bring cat food donations as well.

They'll have 2 giant screen TV's to enjoy flag to flag coverage of the Daytona 500. You can get tickets ahead of time or at the door. To find a ticket location near you or to find out more about the prizes and auction items along with directions, go to www.TheRaceReport.TV. It should be a great race, I know it's for a great cause.

Let's get ready for racing and let's help out the Broome County Animal Care Council.
