Crews on Scene at Binghamton University for Gas Line Break

According to our news department, fire crews are responding to Binghamton University for a broken gas line at the Johnson Hall construction site.

This means you should expect emergency personnel in that area as well as emergency vehicles on the Vestal Parkway as they sort out the situation.

Hawk listeners have been talking about this on our Facebook page.  One of our listeners, Erin Heath, wrote this:

My Husband is working construction at BU...just talked with him...it was the next building over from were he was working. I asked if anyone was hurt...he said not that he knows of. Lots of fire trucks...and NYSEG trucks on site. All of the gas on campus has been shut off...it was a main line that was hit while digging.

We don't know of any injuries or other details at this but, but if/when more information is released, John Davison will let you know.
