It's Conservation Weekend at the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park as they celebrate International Red Panda Day and the Red Panda Network. This Saturday, September 15th and Sunday, September 16th come to the zoo and participate in their on-site education activities including a scavenger hunt around the zoo and red panda themed crafts.

The kids can become "Red Panda Rangers"  by learning about the species and spreading the word about the importance of conservation. A portion of ticket sales will go to the Binghamton Zoo's Global Conservation fund to support conservation in the wild.
Also this weekend, you'll be able to buy gently used books at the Education Center. Tara and I make the trip to the book sale every year and we love the selection and we love the price even more. All the hardcover books are $1 and paperbacks go for only 50 cents.
Then on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m., all the books will be half price or you can fill a bag for $2. Proceeds from the book sale also go to the zoo's Global Conservation Fund.
The conservation weekend will be extra special because you might be able to see Adruzi, their 2 month old red panda so bring your friends and family for this awesome event for an even greater cause.
The Binghamton Zoo fall hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m with the zoo closing at 4 p.m. The 5th oldest zoo is located at 60 Morgan Road in Binghamton.
