He may not have walked away with any awards Wednesday night at the 50th Annual CMA Awards but Cole Swindell is hoping his new music is award worthy.  Cole Swindell co-hosts 'Country Countdown USA,' Sunday night 7-10pm on 98.1 The Hawk.

Cole just released a new 5-song EP called "Down Home Sessions 3."  Host Lon Helton asked him about the new package: "This is a way for me to get out songs I've written and something we can tour around.  It's for the fans, it's new music, and any chance I get to do that is something I want to do."

A few weeks ago, Cole was named Songwriter/Artist of the Year by the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Sunday night at 7, you can find out what he thinks about this honor and what it was like playing the Grand Ole Opry with Dierks Bentley a few weeks ago.

Also a few weeks back, Cole was a celebrity judge on the Miss America pageant.  "How I'm qualified for that, I still don't know."

Cole also has great stories this week about Kenny Chesney, Thomas Rhett, William Michael Morgan, Eric Church, and Florida Georgia Line.
