Our snowy winter continues to show it's power here in the Southern Tier and with that, officials are asking residents to clear the way for services around your house.

The U.S. Postal Service requests  that residents and businesses clear a path to the mailbox for safety so they can keep up with delivery.

Postal officials say "customers need to make sure snow drifts don’t create obstacles and that ice and snow are clear from sidewalks, steps and overhangs before your carrier arrives with your mail."

It's also a good time to remind readers to please clear the snow from around fire hydrants.  This is something you may not think about until it's too late.
