Christmas Was Commercial Back Then

Is Christmas more commercial today than it was 75 years ago?  Yes and no.

For those who think the Christmas season is too commercial, we offer this little factoid: One of our Christmas icons, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, was created in 1939 as an advertisement for the Montgomery Ward department store.

I was shocked to read this today.  I always thought Rudolph was based on a true story!
