I remember friends talking about how much fun they had at last spring's Children's Fair at SUNY Broome.  This Saturday the 35th annual Children’s Fair returns from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday, April 18, in the SUNY Broome Student Center. The event is sponsored by SUNY Broome and the Binghamton Association for the Education of Young Children.

April is recognized as the Month of the Young Child, which brings attention to the needs of young children and their families. This year’s theme is Celebrating Our Youngest Learners.

Kids will not be bored.  Expect an interactive, fun-filled family day with hands-on activities created by SUNY Broome Teacher Education/Early Childhood Education students. The event includes hands-on activities, Chenango Gymnastics, community information displays, fire trucks and Department of Transportation vehicles, basket raffles and child safety seat inspections, as well as entertainment by Johnny Only from 1:15 to 2 pm. There also will be a special Storytelling Corner featuring Miss Spider and Winnie the Pooh from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Low-cost snacks will be available.

The cost is $3 for children, and free for adults with a donation of a non-perishable food item to the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse. There is a $10 maximum cost for families.
