If you were to look through my home music collection you would find I am very eclectic.  You'll find rock, pop, classical, blues, jazz and standards.  Many people are surprised by this.  Maybe it's because I have worked 28 years at the HAWK and some listeners go back to my 'Yesteryear Today' days, the classic country music show I produced and hosted in my "teen" years at 98.1.

When I graduated from Fredonia University, a music school in Western New York, with a BS in Communications , many of my friends exposed me to pretty much every form of music imaginable.  I pretty much have an appreciation for all music, with the exception being possibly rap.  Yes, my primary favorite is country music with a strong appreciation for the genre's history.

With that said, I really enjoy it when a country musician takes it to the next level.  I'm sure you have seen CMT's 'Country Crossroads' through the years.  I always get a kick out of artists that sing other people's music.  Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Clint Black and Garth Brooks have all excelled in this.

One of my favorite new artists on the scene is Charlie Worsham.  I agree with Traci Taylor in that he is an awesome musician, a great songwriter and a great stylist.  Like Brad Paisley, Charlie has a huge appreciation of the country music genre, where it's been and what he has to do to keep it healthy.

On a recent radio tour, Charlie brought his guitar along and did a great version of Ozzy Osbourne's 'Crazy Train.'  All I can say is wow!  This guy is the real deal.  See if you don't agree.
