Earth Fest, sponsored by Earth Day Southern Tier, is one of the longest-running celebrations of Earth Day in the nation and a respected Southern Tier institution.

Today is Earth Day, but Earth Fest 2014 happens this Saturday, April 26th at the SUNY Broome Student Center at 907 Upper Front Street in Binghamton from 10am-4pm.

The year, Earth Day Southern Tier has joined with the Ross Park Zoo, Discovery Center, the Roberson Museum and Science Center and the Southern Tier Bicycle Club and you’ll be able to hop on a free trolly that will connect all four venues and the Southern Tier Bicycle Club will hold a river trails bike cruise starting from campus.

The Ross Park Zoo is celebrating their 139th season grand opening and Roberson will be holding special special hours in honor of Earth Fest from 10am-5pm with planetarium shows at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3 PM (for an extra fee) as well as hands on activities. Earth Fest is also partnering with the Discovery Center which will be holding their grand opening for their 30th Anniversary signature exhibit, “What’s the Buzz?” all about the honeybees and the important roles of pollinators. Each venue is offering discounts if you show up with a stamp from any of the other three venues: the Roberson is a $1 discount, the Discovery Center is $2, the Binghamton Zoo is $2 off and after all that you can get a free admission to Earth Fest!

The SUNY Broome Ecology Club will host a book exchange as well as an electronic and clothing recycling drop-off program.

At Earth Fest at the SUNY Broome Student Center, you’ll enjoy live music, food, magic shows, activities for the kids, crafts and much, much more.

Admission to Earth Fest is $1 or a donation to CHOW. A ticket bought at the Binghamton Zoo or Roberson Museum will also get you into Earth Fest. By being part of Earth Fest, you support Earth Day Southern Tier’s mission to increasing public education and awareness of environmental concerns and the programs, products, and technology available to green the Tier and the planet.
