I love Christmastime. I love cooking up all sorts of delicious foods and shopping and decorating and snuggling with a cup of hot chocolate by the fire. But most of all, I love outdoor festivals- especially ones with lots of sparking lights.
I speak from experience when I tell you that it’s really easy to go over budget around the holidays, and I also speak from experience when I tell you the most important thing is to set a budget and not just put everything on credit cards.
One day after work last year I drove to a little town called Duanesburg, about a two hour drive from Binghamton to take my niece Kayleigh to see the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. It was a bitterly cold and icy evening, but spirits were warmed and lifted high as the Holiday Train pulled into town and brought with it magic that only comes during the Christmas season.
Organizers of the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Binghamton High School have announced the shuttle bus schedule and stops to enable those with transportation concerns to attend the free holiday dinner.
