To say that life with Glenn Pitcher is interesting would be an understatement. I spend no less than five hours a day, six days a week with Glenn and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that Glenn is much like a pregnant woman. When the craving strikes, he must have whatever his mouth is salivating over. And if he can't have his craving, the world will suffer through his whining.
It's hard to tell if pets enjoy Halloween or not. I know my cats couldn't care either way and I'm sure it's the same for some dogs in our area. I do know pet costumes are big business. If you don't believe me, take a trip to a Binghamton area pet store.
In 2002, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga Country created a local culinary festival and fundraiser to highlight the use of high quality foods produced in and around Tioga County and the connection and benefit between local farms and restaurants.
What do you get when you raise a huge tent up, invite some great local bands, bring in some great homemade traditional Oktoberfest food, some cold brews, delicious baked goods, a giant country store and a chance to win $10 Grand...
If you or someone in your house has an allergy to penuts, this could affect you and not in a good way. Mars Chocolate has announced a voluntary recall of its M&M's Milk Chocolate Theater Box because they might contain peanut butter, something not noted on the packaging.
To tell you the truth, I'm a little sad as Binghamton Restaurant Week 2014 ends Thursday night. I'm so happy I tried new restaurants this year, restaurants I may not have ever considered before and restaurants I will be returning to thanks to Restaurant Week. One of those restaurants features great Japanese cuisine and fine indoor/outdoor dining on Court Street called Sake-tumi.
Binghamton Restaurant Week continues and you have until Thursday to take advantage of it. There are several things about BRW that I love. One is that it's a great way to support your local restaurant. Another is it gives me a chance to try something that I might not have tried otherwise. That is true when I went to South Side Yanni's.
We are so lucky to have wonderful locally owned family restaurants in the Southern Tier. Binghamton Restaurant Week gives you a pick of 24 of the best in Binghamton and a chance to taste as many as you can on a special menu before September 24th...
Elliott Root is a 7 year boy. He was born with hypoplastic right heart syndrome. The right side of his heart was underdeveloped. He's had countless surgeries through the years including 3 since June. On Saturday, Elliott will get help from the community with a “Fight with Heart Wing Day” fundraiser.
When it comes to food, I like to think of myself as an explorer...meaning I like to explore foods from Italy, Thailand, China and such. But one area I don't usually step into is food of the more refined nature. So for Binghamton Restaurant Week, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try some foods a little more fancy than I'd normally eat.
Binghamton Restaurant Week is underway and you still have over a week to enjoy it. Binghamton restaurants are offering special lunch and dinner menus with a portion of the proceeds donated to Our Space and CHOW Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse. Tonight Tara and I will be going to Binghamton Hots.
