The Greater Binghamton area has some great local breweries. I was out at The Sherwood in Greene the other night and enjoyed a flight of brews that were new to me. Some of these brews will be featured at the 3rd annual Parlor City Brew Fest to benefit The Family & Children's Society on September 25th from 5-8pm.
In 2001, Maralee Bixbee of Windsor was born with an unforeseen blood disorder called alothrombocytopenia. Luckily for her and her family, Maralee was treated and her’s is a happy ending. Not all kids have the same ending though.
When my siblings and I made a lemonade stand as kids and sold a couple of five cent glasses of our mouth puckering mixture, we thought 50 cents was a million dollars and with our change jingling in our pocket we’d pack up the stand and take take a walk to the pharmacy that sold five cent candy.
