Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban Rock Out With ‘Stop Dragging My Heart Around’ [Watch]
The two have been traveling Down Under for Urban’s Ripcord Tour and decided to treat the audience to a fun take on the '80s hit, which allowed for both Urban's guitar prowess and Underwood's powerful vocals to shine.
Underwood wore a rockstar-approved outfit — a sleeveless black tee with cutouts along the edges and “ROCK STAR CHIC” subtly printed on the front and rhinestoned, ripped jeans — that added to the edgy aesthetic perfectly. Urban showed off his guitar riffs from the get-go, joining Underwood for harmonies on the first chorus. Underwood began the second verse, giving it over to Urban for the next section. Toward the end the singers traded off singing the titular phrase with all the grit and soul it requires, then threw it to the audience for their turn before wrapping up with some epic ad-libs. The two clearly have a blast on stage together, and their voices blended seamlessly as they perform, adding a memorable moment to the set for fans.
The Australian leg of the Ripcord Tour wraps up Dec. 17, and the artists have been enjoying their time in the Outback — including skydiving. Underwood posted some photos from the on-theme adventure on a day off with her crew, noting "It’s like I always say … friends that dive together, thrive together. Ok, I never say that, but it sounds pretty cool!”
Underwood and Urban also treated fans to the first-ever live performance of their duet “The Fighter,” which appears on Urban’s Ripcord album.
