In September Steven Matz pitched no-hit ball for seven innings earning the win as the Binghamton Mets clinched the Eastern League Championship with a 2-1 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels at NYSEG Stadium.

August 26, Matz looked to use a start against Erie as a springboard back to the Big Leagues.  Sidelined with an injury to a lat muscle Matz gets a rehab start against the SeWolves. He didn't disappoint, helping to propel Binghamton to a 3-1 win over Erie.

Prior to his injury which has put him on the 15-day disabled list Matz was rocking New York Mets' opponents.  He got his shot at the the big time on June 28th and went 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA in 13.2 innings of work with New York.  He posted 14 strikeouts in two outings.  Matz was hoping a solid outing could send him back to New York with a chance to take his spot in the pitching rotation which is already as good as any in Major League Baseball.
